Lepe
Lepe is a Spanish municipality in the province of Huelva, Spain. In 2009 had 25,886 inhabitants. Its surface area is 127.94 km ² and has a density of 202.33 inhabitants per km ². It is the most populous municipality in the province after the capital. Founded by Phoenicians in a small valley near the Rio Piedras, Lepe has been inhabited by Romans and Arabs, while preserving the historical heritage of these times. Several sailors linked to the town of Lepe involved in the discovery and conquest of America, among them Rodrigo Perez de Acevedo and Juan Díaz de Solís.Others are renowned leperos Alvaro Alonso Barba, Christopher Mendez and Manuel Vela. Lepe demography has grown rapidly due to immigration, which accounts for 19% of the population census. Its boundaries include the 24 km of beach (La Antilla, New Umbria, Islantilla eastern and fishing port of El Terron, the Chapel of Our Lady of Beauty and the Tower of Catalan. Among their parties include the Pilgrimage of Our Lady of Beauty and the festivity of San Roque and Bella.
